The Island Arts Centre is a large multipurpose arts centre, sharing the Island Civic Centre (which is also the administrative base for Lisburn City Council).
Facilities within the building are divided between the Civic Centre and the Arts Centre however on occasion visitors to the Arts centre can avail of facilities within the Civic Centre.
A wide range of events and activities are programmed at the centre. Price Concessions: a buddy scheme is in place for customers requiring essential personal assistance whereby the assistant entry is waived.

The Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum holds and preserves a wide range of information and artefacts from the local linen industry. There are a number of exhibitions and a cafe and shop at the Centre. The museum is on 3 levels, basement, ground floor and first floor. Free admission.
The events include dog training, outdoor and indoor football, birthday parties, archery and other charitable events.
The Irish and Local Studies Library is a reference and research facility which hosts Heritage Events,offers training sessions and will assist with family/ancestry research.
